Rule 28
Descending at the base camp

(1) The climbing party should reach the base camp within the following period from the date of departure from Kathmandu for mountaineering:-
(a) seventy-five days in the case of mountain peaks above 8,000 meters,
(b) Sixty days in the case of Himalachuli with a height of 7,000 meters to 8,000 meters,
(c) Forty-five days in the case of Himalchuli whose height is less than 7,000 meters.
(2) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (1), for mountain peaks other than those of the Khumbu, Annapurna and Manaslu ranges, the period to descend to the base camp may be extended up to fifteen days at the request of the concerned mountaineering team.
